GPA Formula for Jr High School
To figure out your GPA, we use a basic formula. Each letter grade is worth a number, called a grade point:
- A = 4.0
- B = 3.0
- C = 2.0
- D = 1.0
- F = 0.0
Here’s the formula:
GPA = Total Grade Points ÷ Number of Classes
Example:
Let’s say you have these grades:
- Math – A (4 points)
- Science – B (3 points)
- English – A (4 points)
- History – C (2 points)
Add the grade points: 4 + 3 + 4 + 2 = 13
Divide by the number of classes: 13 ÷ 4 = 3.25 GPA
